Hold down the mouse button as you reboot.  Or use the Force Eject capability on OnyX or MacJanitor.

I am running Parallels V7, initially uder Lion and now under Mountain Lion.  When I insert an audio disk, Windows Media Player opens, even though System preferences is set for iTunes to open CDs.  Furthermore, the disk eject button on my keyboard does not eject the disk.

I found that if I hold down the CTRL button and press the Eject button, I am given the option to shut down my iMac computer.  If I say "Cancel" to that, and then press the disk eject button, the disk does then actually eject.

In order to get iTunes to open a CD on insertion, it is necessary beforehand to quit Parallels, and then the CD opens with iTunes, and the eject button also works as it should.

Parallels can be restarted without problem later next time it is required either via Finder or by clicking on a desktop icon that needs Parallels, such as the icon for Microsoft Word for example.

    I hope this helps.
