Same problem here: after update I encounter several strange USB behaviours with keyboard, mouse and internet. Thanks god a simple disconnect and connect of the USB device (a hub with 7 connections, 5 of which are used) resolve the problem temporarily - until OSX 10.7.3 again decides to make troubles...

No fix that I'm aware of. I ended up rebuilding my Mac Pro with 10.7.2 and hid the 10.7.3 update from the Software Update application so I wouldn't accidentally click it.
It just started happening on my MacBook Air today. It totally locked up and I had to hold the power button down until the Mac shut off. I hate shutdowns that are not graceful. They make me cringe thinking I'm doing damage to my data! :-(I really hope that Apple takes note of these USB issues and that it's affecting enough people that they will come up with some sort of fix. I would like to be at 10.7.3 to take advantage of any other enhancements/bug fixes/security patches, but unless the USB issue gets worked out, 10.7.3 is a no go.

Same issues here, tried reapply combo patch too.
Please either log a bug if you are registered as developer or use the feedback option on lion to report this to apple otherwise nothing will be done about this.

Great idea! I am registered as a Mac Developer and honestly, it didn't even occur to me to go back and register a Problem Report.
I have officially registered this as Problem ID: 10849365
Let's hope that it gets some attention. I would love to upgrade, but being able to use my keyboard and mouse is a little more important to me right now. :-)

Wow, Same issue here on my Early 2008 Mac Pro. After 10.7.3 update, my USB ports have been behaving erratically. The problem actually seems to be getting progressively worse too.
From what Ive gathered so fat, it seems almost as if the ports are now underpowered. Plugging a keyboard directly into the USB port seems to work indefinitely. As soon as I add other devices to same port, the new device won't work.
My first assumption was that my USB hub was shot, but then I tried the ports on the back of my Cinema Display and they were all jacked up too.
I tried plugging another keyboard directly into the front USB port but That didn't work either, as it seems there was no power for it due to the other devices plugged into the back. I unplugged everything but the front keyboard and it still didn't work until I restarted it.
Extremely hard to troubleshoot how this issue is behaving. Like I said, erratic is probably best description.
This is the worst bug I've personally experienced after an update to an OS since I've been using Macs on System 7.
I really hope Apple fixes this ASAP.

I should add that I just booted I to Windows 7 using my BootCamp partition and the USB issue exists there too, which leads me to believe that this is not an OS issue. Hate to be the alarmist here, but is it possible the update permanently fried something on the logic board?
Also I should add that this just happened to me today after installing the 10.7.3 "supplemental update"
Why was this not labeled as an incremental update? It still says I'm running 10.7.3.

Apple is the new Microsoft with Steve J gone. 10.7.3 update is a real piece of sh1t. With this update, I cannot use my USB flash drive. On the exact same machine, if I use VMWare fusion, I can read and write from Windows. Just not from Finder. ******* stupid update. Cannot mount a USB flash drive on the mother OS, although it works fine in the Windows guest OS.
Just junk. I am not going to update my Mac anymore. The QA team at Apple should be fire!!!
