Yes, you can uipdate a book anytime. Just drag the revised version into iTunes Producer and re-upload it. - Fabe

Are you talking about mistakes in the book itself or meta data or both? Free or paid?

You, I have done it for free and paid books. Just reupload with iTunes Producer, the result will shown up in less than 24 hours.

I was referring to updating the book itself, not only for mistakes but to add new information, etc. For a paid book. Sounds like it is easy.

This is what I did. I infact added 30+ pages to the original book and it goes through within a day.
The only things that do not get reflected include description and page length. But screenshots, pricing and books (including previews) can all be modified.

I just encountered the first "pulled down from store" today. This is the book I mentioned above - I added 30+ pages and reupload. I did not received a ticket, but the book is now "not in 32 stores".
It seems that it now went into the approval process like my other books, but unlike App Store (which the app will be available when a new version is under review), the book is not available in iBookstore while the review process is on.
I learned something new today.

Please let us know how this turns out. It's an important issue for many of us. As one commenter said, the ability to update has powerful potential -- and after all, flexibility of this sort is one of the biggest advantages of digital over paper.

Well, it has been a day, and all traces of that book has been removed. Can't find it in iBookstore anymore. Not sure what will happened or how long does it take.
My other book was approved on the same day - after a close to 1 month wait! Hopefully the approved-then-removed book won't need to wait for another month.

Question: Is this book, the one you added the 30+ pages to, the only book you've made changes to?
Just wondering if Apple pulled down all the books you made any changes to, or only this one (as it seems you added a lot of new content).
I can understand a book being re-reviewed if it has many new pages, but if someone just wants to fix a few typos or such, it will be very frustrating if we have to wait for a whole other review process just to make a few changes.

This is the only book I edited after approval.
The rest I edited before they approved - but it seems to make the approval process slower.

Thanks limtc. One more question -- it seems like when you made the changes, they updated live in the store quickly, then eventually Apple pulled the book back down. So, was there a period where the changes you made did reflect in the store?

I have another question for limtc. Was the book you changed (by adding 30 pages) approved and on the bookstore before the change? That is, was the shorter version available on the books store until you made the edit? I would have thought that they would restore the earlier, shorter version, for the time the longer one is being reviewed.

A few weeks. Seems like Apple didn't care about it (or the rest of my books waiting in pipeline) until its turn of approval.

The book is approved right before we changed the structure. After approval, any updates I have done I found that I can reupload and the changes will appeared within a day. Almost everything can be changed - books, previews, price, except for some meta data like page count and import date.
This works well for a few weeks until it was eventually pulled (hopefully it is for another review). No tickets, no emails, nothing. It is no longer in 32 stores.
It has been a week and the status remains not in 32 stores.
