Journals look like a great idea. But I've now created two on my iPad 2 and tried to publish to iCloud but all I get is the spinning wheel which suggests that the file is being transferred, but it never stops spinning. The first journal I tried to publish had about 10 photos, so I thought it might be that the files were too big. So then I tried to publish a journal with a single photot, but got the same behaviour. The spinning wheel spun on for ever.

Anyone any ideas?

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.3

Here is how I resolved this issue.

    Go into Settings> iCloud> Storage & Backup> Manage Storage

    Look under Documents & Data

Go into IPhoto and click edit in the upper right.  Delete all your data for iPhoto in the cloud.

    Try to republish the Journal.

I actually rebooted my iPhone but don't think it is necessary.

I think what happened early on is their server was getting blasted and there was alot of data corruption.  Seems to be working good for me since doing the above.

    Hope this helps.

"I erase all the folder on icloud storage with mountain lion that i can see it. But nothing..."

Mountain Lion?  iPhoto for IOS is for iPhone and IPad.  You need to do the above on an IOS device.

"All data is on the cloud... i see my photos there.. but never stops to spin the wheel."

Don't know how you could see your journals on iCloud without having the link that is provided after the wheel stops spinning.  When I log into iCloud I can't see any photos, Photo Stream or iPhoto Journals.  Only way I can view journals is through the link that is generated by pushing either of the  "Tell a Friend" or 'View in Safari" buttons.

Yes, in your iPhone settings.  Do you have iPhoto for IOS installed?  If so, have you published any Journals to iCloud?  If you have then you should see iPhoto in your "Manage Storage" area.  If you haven't done the above then it won't appear.

So we have gone full circle. That's my problem, like most, I can't publish journals to iCloud... :-(

Do you by any chance have multiple Apple ID's?  It seems to me I had to log into iCloud the first time I published a journal??  Wonder if that could be your problem.  Also, hate to say it but have you tried uninstalling, hard reset and reinstall?

Now mine is fixed. I am one of the original complainers. I didn't do anything, so I assume it was a problem at the apple end. I updated a journal and it refreshed the iCloud and the safari versions quite quickly.

I have one account, a very old well used .Mac account that was iTools before that. I'll just wait for Apple to get around to fixing it... If there is anything I have learned about Apple and the cloud is patience

Same thing as others have already pointed out: on my iPad there is no "Documents & Data" (hence no "iPhoto" and no associated "Edit" button) in:

Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage

There is an "iPhoto" item in a list located under:

Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Backups [name of your device] > Backup Options

But it is just an on/off switch. I don't think this is you were referring to.

I think the issue lies into the absence of the "Documents & Data" part. Trying to publish a journal doesn't force it to appear.

iPhoto has now made an appearance in Manage Storage but still won't publish... When it comes to Apple and the Cloud I have learned not to get in a hurry...
