Mar 10, 2012 6:58 AM in response to Klaus1by Evelgar,Thanx but i tried all that alredy, it worked once.... But then it just doesn't work again the next time i turned the iMac on.... Any other alternatives like booting from disk instead of the HD? And will this method not affect saved files either?

Two other possible solutions:
Run the latest 10.6.8 combo updater again.
Or perform an archive and install:
