Q: Your Apple ID has been disabled!?

After I had to change my cc# due to a security breach, I can't down load new apps or update the old ones. I am logged onto iTunes, and apple with the new info, but iPad says- "your apple I D. has been disabled." yikes!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

This is not cool of Apple. My account all of a sudden is disabled also! why? I do not even have a credit card attached to it. I have not made and purchases or requested any refunds from my account. I have been downloading free apps and then yesterday all of a sudden it is disabled. And I got the "Your Apple ID has been disabled" message not the "Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" so resetting my password does not re-enable my account.

I have contacted apple and I am nearing 20 hours without any response. The automated email says "usually within 24 hours" I even tried calling but when i tell the automated response guy that my account is disable it tells me to goto www.apple.com/support/itunes and then automatically hangs up on me. This is not cool of Apple to disable my account without telling me why. Like i said I have not done anything wrong. Unless downloading free apps is illegal now. Because that is what I mostly download free Apps. Not to say I haven’t paid for any because I have. I have paid for about 10% of my apps using iTunes gift cards.

Anyone else have any other suggestions to help me get my account re-enabled again? I guess I will try and submit another request. Otherwise I am just sitting here.

Doesn't matter if you have done anything wrong. Something happened that caused them to disabled the account.

You want them to call you before they disable it if something is out of whack?

and if the email address was changed, who would they contact?

Why does it not matter if you haven't done something wrong? My account just got disabled yesterday and i got the same response from some guy named Mike from apple support. he told me that my account was disabled, cannot be re-enabled, and he cannot tell me why.  I had around $7 in iTunes credit, so i guess that is now gone? This definitely isn't right.

Because someone else may have done something wrong like try to get into your account.

    Yes, it is not right.

You need to contact Apple again. Don't simply let this drop. Ask to escalate this issue to Customer Relations (don't ask for customer serivce).

If it was because someone tried to get into my account it would be a different error "Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons"

and you can change your password youself without needing somone physically at apple.

And yes I still beleive thye should email you and explain why its canceled. email the last email you have on file.

Really? That seems logical but how do you know this is what would happen?

What if the old email does not exist (which is why it was changed)?

You make a lot of assumptions.

    Yes they should contact you.

Clearly that is not the case my email has not change. nothing has changed. It is not hard to just send a scripted email saying why its disabled.

I am basing everything off MY EXPERIENCE. so I am not assuming anything. BTW you are not helping here so your comments are of no addded value to this thread.

How do you know nothing is changed in you account? You cannot get into it. You nmean you did nothing to change anything.

So back to my original response to you.

Something happened that your account was disabled.

I am basing everything off MY EXPERIENCE. so I am not assuming anything.

    Really?

So you know exactly what happens when someone tries to get into yoru account?

If it was because someone tried to get into my account it would be a different error "Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons"

and you also seem to know nothing was changed in your account when you cannot even access your account.

    That's pretty good.

Rather than being judgemental and trying to pass off your thoughts as facts, stick to what happened.

No one is forcing you to read/post here.

As before (I responded to MuclarriD1 who jumped in the thread), contact Apple (you have). If no response in 48 hours, contact them again.

Had the same problem apple id has been disabled happened to many people including my friends but I finally found a way to enable it you have to go to the iTunes store then scroll down tap on your account and view apple id go to the the first option and change your pass. That's how you fix that problem

If this helped please give me a thumbs up-ferferfer1 or hat303(game center)

There are so many reasons Apple disabling your ID.  Most of them because of security reasons, but mine is because of I accessed US iTunes stores from non-US country.

To resolve you need to contact the cust support SEVERAL times, never give up.  Ask them kindly to reinstated your ID.  I asked them to reinstate my ID, then I changed my country stores.

i wish Apple had better system like a warning system that give users to fix the problem, instead of just suddenly disabling them.
