Mar 13, 2012 2:18 PM in response to geminimtby Limnos,I don't know about Snow Leopard but in other OSX versions go to System Preferences > CDs & DVDs and see what is set there for what to do when inserting an optical disc. I'd say, yes, normally they should show, especially a CD in iTunes (but again check preferences). If you have the preferences set and the CD still doesn't show, try Disk Utility. If that doesn't see it then something is likely truly wrong. It may be the hardware interface (try a SMC reset) or even the drive itself.

Mar 13, 2012 2:29 PM in response to Limnosby geminimt,Thanks. All of the items in System Preferences are on the correct settings like; "when you insert a music CD - Open itunes"... In the disc utility, the SuperDrive shows up on the left hand side but it is grayed out. The description on the right side says "this disc drive is busy. Please choose another one". Interesting since there is nothing in the cd bay. I will try resetting the system management controller (whatever that is).
