I guess they were mistaken because my tracking info shows "Indirect Signature Required." Maybe they meant adult signature required?  So you shouldn't have any issues.

Nice!  You'll obviously get it before we do in the U.S. so I'm positive you'll be vomiting up impressions.

Now that we are down to the final 12 hours or so I like keeping track, although it's completely unnecessary and I'm guilty of being as annoying as everyone else checking their tracking numbers and reporting.    But now is the time to do it, not the entire past week leading up to it.

My status hasn't changed since March 11.  Still says Ontario, CA although FedEx assured me it was at LAX airport as of several hours ago and on its way, and I'm not worried because I know how this goes.

This happened with the iPhone 4S too, and any other new iOS device.  For anyone who hasn't experienced the thrill/anguish of release day, don't be overly concerned.  Your package is in with millions of others and it takes time to scan them all, so you might wind up receiving it before you ever see a tracking update.  When millions of packages are scanned, and they are not set up as normal packages but rather a special label/payment structure/shipping protocol from Apple, it takes time for the atypical batch tracking numbers to merge into their system/database.

Apple, DHL (from China), FedEx, and UPS know what they are doing.  They get paid lots of money from Apple to handle these deliveries.  You, the customer, don't pay an extra itemized shipping fee but be assured, it is included in the selling price and the shippers get compensated fairly for all the hassle they have to go through, even though the rates are far lower than what you or I would pay.  None of the shippers would ever turn down such a large contract.  They probably get $5-$10 per iPad, and that's quite little considering all of these iPads are being shipped as Next Day deliveries (since Apple didn't release them until yesterday, unless they were being shipped direct from China).

Also, if FedEx is delivering your iPad, they told me to ignore the 3 p.m. time that your tracking info states.  While you certainly could have it by that time or earlier depending on your locale on the driver's route, they said that they will be delivering iPads up until 8 p.m. this evening so be at your location to sign for it or have the signature release form taped to the door.

They said normally they only deliver Express packages up until 7 p.m. but Apple hired them to deliver until 8 p.m.  This is rather uncool of FedEx actually (to state 3 p.m.), because if you had it shipped to your office and it doesn't get delivered until 7 or 8, chances are you will be gone by then and won't get it until Monday, since they likely won't redeliver to your office on Saturday and they only do that when specific Saturday delivery is paid for, or via Home Delivery service which runs Tuesday through Saturday.  It might be covered in this scenario for a redeliver on Saturday, but chances are you won't be at your office on Saturday, so if they don't deliver before your office closes at 5 or 6, you may want to hang around outside until 8 p.m.  If they don't show up by then, something likely went wrong.

If you have them delivering to your home like I am, you will obviously be missing part or all of work today to wait for the iPad unless you have a neighbor signing for it or you have authorized Apple to leave it at your door (which is risky to say the least, since most everyone knows today is iPad release day and thieving people might be looking over others' doorsteps).  Since FedEx had stated 3 p.m. on the tracking info, some of us had told our employers we might not be in until after 3 because we were waiting for the iPad (or said we were sick, or had a doctor's appointment, etc.) but our employers would surely expect to see us sometime today which won't be possible if they don't deliver until 8....and if you have to show up for work your only alternative is to call FedEx and ask them to hold it for you, which means you wouldn't be able to pick it up until Monday.

What is this?  It is just a blank page to enter a tracking number for your local carrier.

And about your unboxing video, why bother?  Do people really get a kick out of those videos?  They will have their own soon enough to unbox.  Plus, there was already an unboxing video from Vietnam on the net two days ago.

Impressions of the display would be good though.

Er...  was kidding?  Is it a little early for you?  When I get it, it will go straight for restore which could take some time.

Tracking page: Guess what you do with that!!?  Try putting your tracking number in...  You never know it might just show you some tracking information.

Was trying to be helpful, but you are treating me like I am a pain in the a$$ for answering a question.  Duh!?

No, but I thought it was some kind of European tracking system.  I thought you were trying to show us the status of your package and I was saying it wasn't working.  So it will show anyone's tracking info?

This is why I hate FedEx. I think they have the worst customer service. I remember having a delivery I missed because the driver didn't bother to buzz my apartment. I stayed home all day for the delivery and kept going downstairs to see if maybe I could catch them. On one trip, someone in the lobby said the delivery guy left 10 minutes ago. I called their customer service number to see if they could contact the driver or if I could go to the local facility. They said my local facility was closed and there was absolutely no way for them to reach the driver. That seems ludicrous to me in this modern age where every large business is equipped with wireless communication. There was no offer of apology or help. They basically blew me off. Now, even if I have to pay a little more, if I have the choice, I go with anyone but FedEx.

Syncreon are using UK Mail for nearly all UK shipments now.

Enter your apple tracking number into the reference number field on the UK Mail website and you can track your shipment locally.

Thanks Rick, found my info . For any others in the UK, go to https://www.ukmail.com/ and on the right hand side, there is a Parcel Tracker box, just enter your 10 digit tracking number from Apple in the "by Reference number" box and it should then show you Consignment Search Results and you'll see your delivery and then click red 'more info' link for the details. Mine shows it arrived at the delivery office around 6am this morning and is now out for delivery

I said this before... GO TO YOUR ORDER PAGE, PRINT OUT THE FEDEX SIGNATURE RELEASE FORM, AND PUT IT ON YOUR DOOR.  They have a lot of deliveries to make today and won't wait around long for you.
