Whenever Apple has a new software update on Windows 8, their new software causes periodic (10 sec or so) loss of focus from whatever window I am in.  I can be happily typing a document or email, and all of a sudden the cursor goes away and focus is (presumably) on the desktop.  I have to click again on whatever window I want to be in.

I found out how to fix this from a discussion board year or two ago.  You go to the Services menu and disable the Apple Device service.  But everytime Apple sends an upgrade, it comes back. I can live with that, but it also means that a potentially important Apple service is not in operation.  So, two questions:

1) I am interested in using my PC to sync my iPad (now synched to an older Mac) but I don't trust this because of having to stop the service.

2) Has anyone else seen this problem? Has Apple ever come up with a fix or acknowledged the problem?

Thanks for any insights into this problem, and apologies if I have missed already existing answers.

Cheers!
