You need to authorize your MBP with your Apple ID and password. Then in settings MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF automatically open when device is connected. You do this because you want to transfer your purchases to your iTunes on your MBP. Once you've transfered your purchases, you can then sycn with the MBP, but remember that music you might have downloaded from CD on your iMac, won't be in your iTunes library on your MBP.

I am not interested in moving the iTunes library to the MBPro. I want to sync the MBPro iTunes library with the iPad2. that is I wanat to have MBPro iTunes library on the iPad2.
As it shows on the iPad2: Settings/General/iTunes Wi-Fi Sync "Sync will resume when "iMac..." is available. iMac....
I want to change iMacVRS to MBPro and have the iPad2 to sync with MBPro rather than iMac....
Thanks to each of you for your replies and for your suggestions.
