I agree the display is much better on the new iPad. I tested the speed of both opening apps, opening safari on the identical web page without safari being open on either iPad and I found the speed to be equal on both iPads, in fact the iPad 2 opened the web page a little faster than the new iPad.

I did notice that all the new iPads batteries were around 73-80 percent even though they were all hooked up to power. I checked the iPad 2's and they were all at 100 percent and hooked up to power.

All the new iPads were pretty warm as opposed to the iPad 2's all being cool. I tested the dictation and it wasn't that accurate but I think the noise in the store had something to do with it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash the new iPad, I actually went in to buy one even after reading all the problems people are having with theirs. But after reading everyone's problems I decided to compare the 2 iPads first and I'm glad I did because with all the problems reported on this and another iPad forum, I found FOR ME the iPad 2 is a better buy especially with the sales on them now. I am going to wait until either Apple fixes all these problems or until they release the iPad 4 or whatever they are going to call it and share all this with everyone.

I do pray and have prayed for everyone who is having problems with their new iPods that things would work out and get fixed for you or that you would return them while you still can and get an iPad 2 or just wait and see what Apple does. Either way I wish the best for everyone and remember I am only sharing what I've seen, heard, and concluded what I found was best FOR ME after seeing, hearing, and reading the past few days and comparing the 2 iPads.

Hope all this helps.

This forum is usually for people that want help with and issue and others try to help.  Not for general discussion.

Nobody is going to read that wall of text to figure out if you are making a request for tech support-ya know, the reason this forum is here, to give tech support.

    Do you need tech support?

I think his issue is about not liking the New iPad as much as the iPad 2.

Then the answer to his question/concern is to return the New iPad.

There is a reason Apple stores do not charge rent for comparing products in their showroom all day ... to save on "returns because I do not like it".

No I don't need help I was trying to help everyone else who was having problems. This is the first post I started so I guess I didn't know what I was doing I was just trying to help.  I went in to buy the new iPad

But after reading everyone's problems I compared the new iPad and iPad 2 so I could share the differences between them. I really do like the new iPad but with all the problems just about everyone was having I was just trying to help by sharing what I saw.

Sorry for any confusion, like I said this is the first and only post I started....

I bought the new iPad and I have had no problems whatsoever. I remember when the iPad2 came out and I kept reading about problem after problem.  This seems to always be the case when a new device or newer version of a device hits the market. In all honesty, there are always some lemons in every batch of devices. I own a NOOK Color and a NOOK Simple Touch............have never encountered problems that people discuss on the B&N forums.

Many times, user "problems" are not so much with the device as with the user......just sayin'

    Hi Chrisper,

I think for you, not getting the new iPad was the correct decsion. Also, you are correct in doing your own comparison in the store, that is what they are there for. Too many people rush in, buy the newest item, get home and are disappointed.

Speaking for myself I like to see posts like yours in this forum, that is part of what it is for.

I have the new ipad (iPad 3) and like it very much! I also am noticing the same issues you bring up. I will not return my ipad because of them, but now I am aware that they exist and will work around them.

Keep in mind this forum's main purpose is to ask questions about problems you are having and the millions of people reading them may have had the same problem and already been able to resolve it. They can then share the help with others.

Many times I do a search on a problem in this forum and I find 20 other people with the same problem! And in most cases one of them has already found a solution.

Thanks mark and everyone for your replies. Now that I'm not a virgin (starting posts) anymore, I know what's supposed to be written and such...I was wanting to help is all but like I said now I know tHe rules and such.

    Thanks again

haha, been there and done that!

I'm one of the crazy ones that went on day one at the store, 3rd in line...

I had an iPad 1 before and compared it with the New iPad and the difference is clear.

As most reviews have said and Apple has said, it's not revolutionary, it's resolutionary! haha

I have not had any issue with the new iPad since.

I wrote a few posts at the beginning that probably crossed the line a bit.  Then I stopped writing and started reading to see how posts were constructed that received better responses.
