Q: Apple loops playing back distorted (0.3 to 1.5 dB)

hi all,

i am new to logic and i just noticed that my apple loops are distorted when playing back.

(i already restarted and ckecked all the gains and faders). my own audio recording are fine and do not clip.

so far, i'm guessing it has to do with the audio driver?

also, i am using an digidesign mbox2 as an audi interface, but the apple loops clipping also without the mbox.

os x 10.7.3 lion

Might just be as simple as the preview volume fader in the Loop Browser is cranked up too high.  Check the screenshot below...

See the horizontal volume fader next to "Play in: [Song Key]"?  Where's your level set at?

    hey

thanks for the quick reply! i checked the faders but they are okay.

i re-installed logic studio including all sound files again and it seems to work now. but still not too shure what the issue was. maybe corrupted files?

    many thanks for your help!

Interesting... reinstalls do wondrous things, often acting as the simplest cure for all our glitchy ills. Could have been a corrupted preference file that was telling the sound files to play at a ridiculously loud volume, and doing the reinstall corrected the issue.  Glad it's working, happy to help!
