Q: Compressor cannot be opened because of a problem

I'm running Final Cut Studio 2 and Compressor is giving me this error when I try to open it.

Compressor cannot be opened because of a problem

Check with the devoloper to make sure Compressor works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application.

I'm running OS 10.6.8.

I've uninstalled all of FCP using FCS Remover multiple times and tried to re-install multiple times. No luck.

Any ideas?

I ran the binary that is compressor at the bash prompt and got the following error

    dyld: Library not loaded: @loader_path/Frameworks/mch264enc.framework/mch264enc

      Referenced from: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/H264Encoder.framework/Versions/A/H264Encoder

      Reason: image not found

    Trace/BPT trap: 5

I looked for the files its complaining about and they seem to be in the wrong place

    /Library/Application\ Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/H264Encoder.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ mch264enc.framework/Versions/8.0/mch264enc

    /Library/Application\ Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/H264Encoder.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ mch264enc.framework/Resources

I moved the following files into the place they are being looked for

    /Library/Application\ Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/H264Encoder.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ mch264enc.framework/mch264enc

    /Library/Application\ Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/H264Encoder.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ mch264enc.framework/Resources

    Hi jrepasky,
I know you posted this years ago, but I was wondering if you could possibly elaborate on your solution. I'm having the same problem now and thought your post looked like it may hold the answer to my problem. Where did you find the misplaced file and where to you put it to correct the compressor issue?

    Thanks so much!
