What are the MacOS Version and Aperture Versions you are using? I assume MacOS 10.7.3 and Aperture 3.2.3?
Video may not play properly for several reasons:
- Check, if you have the 3ivx Video Codec installed. That codec may cause crashes or prevent video from being played. http://aperture.maccreate.com/2011/08/25/aperture-3-will-not-play-videos-if-lion -is-installed-and-3ivx-video-codec-is-installed/
- How did you import the video? If the video is referenced, Aperture will not be able to play it in a slideshow - the video files need to be managed (included in the Aperture Library): Consolidate the video into the Aperture library; File -> Consolidate Master
- Is your Aperture Library inside a shared folder (eg. Users -> Shared or your Public Folder)? Then the access control lists may prevent the video from playing properly; so move the Library to a regular folder.
Post back, if none of this helps.
Thanks for the reply, Leonie and Frank. I do have MacBook OS 10.7.3 and Aperture 3.2.3 trial version...I am able to see the video that I imported but when I do play the slideshow, I can't see it...same with exporting slideshow, the video clip won't show...
I tried following the 2nd and 3rd instruction of Leonie, but it didn't work...As far as the 3ivx video codec if it's installed, i don't think i have that issue because I could see the video on my viewer. It just won't show during playback of slideshow or export. I'm not seeing the problem on that link that Leonie gave me.

That link describes the problem for iMacs. There the codec is known to cause crashes. I suggested you check if the codec is installed, because I have seen some post that reported video not playing caused by this codec on MacBooks.
Hi, I had a similar problem.
I think in my case the problem was the frame rate. It was set at 24, but as per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4025, apple likes 30fps for a 640px movie.
try to run it through MPEG streamclip (it's a free download) and convert it to 30 FPS Jpeg mov files. Hope this helps.
