Be sure to back up your phones with iTunes first if you want to transfer your data and setting to your new phones. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109.

Mar 29, 2012 10:32 AM in response to randers4by jangell2,Thanks for that link. I notice in the article for the first link, that it says to remove the SIM card. How important is it to do that? We got the new phones at an Apple store and the old phones were deactivated before I walked out the door. (The new phones were activated while still in the box).
Does the SIM card contain any of my ATT cell plan info? The phone number, anything?
Our new phones are up and runnig with all our data transferred. No need for a backup of the old phones.

Mar 29, 2012 10:40 AM in response to jangell2by wjosten,It's up to you whether to leave the deactivated sim cards in the phones or not. iPhone stores no data on a sim card, and the only data there is your old account info, now useless to anyone since the sim has been deactivated. If selling the phone, hackers like to get these phones with the deactivated sims still in the phone. Makes hacking the phone easier. Once done, they will throw the sim away as it is useless to them once they've hacked the phone.
