When you are configuring the clients, you'll need to use the correct dns name (or ip address) for your update server, not the example server sus.domain.com. -JP

I managed to get it fixed, there were some other files that needed to be edited not mentioned by the apple support article.
My client settings were fine - I just didn't want to go advertising my fqdn so I took it out and replaced it with domain.com

I'm just crossing the same bridge. Would you be willing to share the "other files" that needed to be edited that Apple did not mentioned in their support article?

I'm really sorry but because it was a while back I can't quite remember. I should have posted it in my response above, I hate when people don't do that!
