have you tried singing into the app store on the new computer? if so, did you check your purchased app list in the app store? if iphoto, imovie, idvd is listed, you should be able to install it without having to purchase it again. If for some reason iLife apps are not listed; is there any other email address you might have used when you first setup and registered the computer?

Here is what happens, upon the reinstall....iLfe is gone and needs reinstalled. When you recovered your backup via MA if this was a backup from an oler machine, you would've been recovering that old backup's version of iLife. Take it in the G-BAR at any Apple store, they should be able to get you reinstalled. You could alo try checking out the APP store to see if you can redownload it FREE.

GO Teen Titans! I found this thread that explains it very well... Lots of people who have 2 or more Apple IDs will have this problem.
