I tried to do that and now it tells me I cannot change store location as have 'at least one incomplete pass' - which is odd as I am not waiting for anything on itunes...........?

Try resetting your ATV it under the general settings menu

In my case, I changed my time zone (from Cupertino to my city) and reselected my language (English)... for some reason, that fixed it.

My ATV3 has worked beautifully for the last week. We woke up this morning to find this problem. Nothing weird happened over night - my entire network has been up all night with no resets or anything strange.
The ATV3 accessing all of my Home Sharing content, so I know the network is fine (wired). Tried resetting and cycling power. Tried changing locations/setting language. Nothing. I even tried resetting my DSL Router, but to no avail.
I've got nothing fancy going on with my location, short of being in Canada.
Update: Oh, and I have a 2nd ATV3 downstairs, also on a wired connection. Just found out that it, too, is exhibiting the same error. Although, I'd left it in 'iTunes Match' last night and the first thing I saw when I started it up was "Error: iTunes is Unavailable. Please try again later". Plugged my old Popcorn Hour in and it, at least, is working fine.

Ok. Got it working, but had to reset the settings and re-enter all my accounts/passwords. Very frustrating, but at least it's working. Here's hoping it doesn't happen often.
Odd that it would happen to two different ATV3's on the same network at the same time. If the network connection was lost completely (i.e. no home sharing access) I'd blame the router, but in this case?

Can you pl explain what all you did to get the internet back in Apple TV?
I tried resetting, Router resetting, restarting, changing the settings in the router, with wire and with WiFi, Iphone, Laptop, Blueray disc player Wifi etc are working in the same network and able to connect to internet. only the Apple TV is not connecting.
I do not know what is wrong . every time i try fixing it i came out more frustrating.

I wish I could say more - First I tried a power cycle (restart), then I changed my location and language settings. Then I tried power cycling again (unplugging from power). Then reset the router. Power cycled again. All had zero effect. Then I reset the settings (not to factory default), and then it worked fine.
I doubt the sequence/previous steps did much to help solve the problem. It seems this particular issue is a 'weird one' - it could be that there are multiple bugs, each with different solutions, which just LOOK like they're the same because of the way they effect the UI.
Have you tried restoring it to factory default? I didn't have to go that far, but if it's an issue with the ATV itself, I expect that would solve it (as this cleats all settings and re-downloads/fresh installs the OS).
