Q: how to insert emoticons when messaging??

I have an Apple iPhone4s. I have WhatsApp on my phone. I have donwloaded emoticons also but don't know how to access these when I wrting a message to someone. Can anyone direct me? Thanks

thanks. I am also having an issue with sending pictures through Whatsapp on my phone. When I take a picture and want to share it with my family on Whatsapp it had been an option in the list. But lately when I hit the share icon this app is not listed there anymore. only Text Message, Email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. how can I get it back?
