Since the latest rounds of updates to OS X, iTunes and iOS, I've been having many issues with my library.  iCloud, Sync Services, iTunes crashes, Apple TV not connecting to library, etc.  Lots of stuff.  I'd like to start over with iTunes and see if that helps.  Is it possible to do the following?

- Uninstall iTunes

- Install iTunes

- Rebuild library (using the XML file I guess is the best approach)

- Can you retain song plays, ratings, etc.?

- Can you retain iOS sync - meaning, the old backups and the fact that Apps, Movies, TV Shows are synced?  I don't want to have to completely redo all of the apps.

Is this even a good approach?  Any other thoughts?
