How can I add a sub-title (translation of spoken text) in one action to a film?

Which version of iMovie do You use ?

There are no automatic tools that one can use - only the text tools included - and using lower third then adding text - row by row.

Tedious - but that's the way. I use to make the text in Text-Tools first then copy row by row into this iMovie text tool.

Several languages = one movie per language as multiple texts is not a function here.

Can you explain a little more about how to do this. I have looked and looked and can't figure it out. When I click the T symbol, select a style and drag it up to the project pain, it wants to give the entire movie the words I type that I entend for just a few frames.

Well - in iMovie 09 to 11 - I'm not to familiare as I prefer iMovie HD6 or FinalCut.

    Still in Project window -

    • I set it into TimeLine mode (iM'11) and

    • then drag the Text symbol to the clip were it will start -

    • then I adjust the length of it.

    • open a text editor like "Texteditor or MS Word or Whatever" with my text cut up in small chunks

    • copy one line

    • select text clip in movie project and it's text

    • paste the true text - piece by piece
