Mar 24, 2012 8:39 PM in response to agustina.ceby julianelmago,Just to add to your list; I also tried the newest Moshi adapter, and only image (without a correct display, cause image wont feet perfectly in my SHARP HDTV and also SAMSUNG HDTV both, 1080p) without any sound would display!!. Infact to watch a movie I have to put some external speakers to my MBP and the HDMI minidisplay port adaptor to the HDTV.
I also have the NewBelkin and have the same problem...
Really annoyed by this troubles, cause I`m also having problem with the airdisplay trhough my apple TV (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2776955?start=720&tstart=0) . it seems Apple don´t like to diplay HD content on HDTVs....

Mar 28, 2012 11:31 PM in response to Ponponheadby lt123,oooo i worked it out! i was having the same problem and was really angry after spending $60 on a cable.
if you go into your system preferences and go into displays then tick "show displays in menu bar". if you click on the display then up the top and click "turn on mirroring" then the screens will be the same.

The turn on mirroring only shows when connected, btw.

Apr 2, 2012 8:48 PM in response to Ponponheadby Tagrawr,For some reason, my TV does not appear under Audio Output nor under Audio Midi... any clue guys? It'll be really helpful.
Thanks -
Apr 2, 2012 10:13 PM in response to Tagrawrby frederic1943,Only the Mid 2010 model 7,1 MacBook has audio throught the Mini DisplayPort. All other MacBooks have audio out through the headphone jack.

I confirmed that my model is this (which, stated by Apple, supports audio):
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP619
So, now I'm not sure why my TV would not show up as an output when I go to Sound or even the Midi utility.

Apr 4, 2012 10:08 AM in response to Ponponheadby Zongkun,Dear all,
I have a 2.4 Core 2 duo, mid 2010 MacBook Pro, as verified from the apple support page.
I have also checked that I should have HDMI audio output as suggested by many people on the web by checking the following, click on apple logo - about this mac - system profiler - audio(built in) - it has HDMI output on the last.
When I plug in my HDMI cable, connected with the adapter to my MBP, I click checked the "Mirror display" and followed by going to "Sound" in the system preference. I could only see, "Internal speaker" under the output tab.
The only reason I'm giving myself is because I bought a brand less 3rd party Mini display port to HDMi hence it did not support any sound from my plasma nor LCD tv.
I would like to check if my MacBook pro does really support HDMI audio before purchasing the Griffin or Moshi adapters which seems to be a pretty popular cables for video/audio output.
Regards

Buy the adaptor, take it back if it does not work.
