Q: Wacom Ultrapad Digitizer II compatible Mac

Hello dear gurus!

I have an old tablet Wacom Digitizer II UD 12-12-R with a STJ-AIII cable.

I really have no idea what Mac's or PC's  it is compatible with. And as far as I can judge, this model is Mac-only.

Can you please tell me which Macintosh's where used with this tablet? What are the latest ones that should work with it?

I know that old Macs with serial should handle it, but what are those macs? Power Macintosh G3 or PowerBook G3? Maybe you remember with what model you used it.

I should know the definite model of Mac so I can test my tablet.

Thank you in advance

Max

I had one of those eons ago before the imac and USB began. Had mine before the powermac g3 (thinking the 9500 or 9600), but would think any mac with a serial port would work as long as you were able to find a driver. Should still work with a windows XP computer, most everything does.

Is Apple Power Macintosh G3 266 All-in-One the latest model to support serial peripherals?

As for the working on Windows XP, PC doesn't have such serial input. The one on the Wacom has the following view:

yeah, that brings back some memories.

if this is the cable adaptor you have, it'd most likely work with the powermac.

doubt that you could find a serial to USB for it, if you were looking for a newer model.

I had mine new in 1997 and didn't use it after 2001 when upgraded to a graphire USB, if that'd help narrow the computer range.

Wacom has a good history of long term support for drivers. I'd check their website to see what the latest mac model this tablet supported
