Q: Apple website pages won't load on Safari/IE

c2002 eMac that had to have the OS reinstalled. It is running Safari 1.0.3. I have installed all updates via the software updater and the issues I am having are the aluminum keyboard is no longer functioning correctly. When I go to apple/support to download updates the page will not load fully on safari preventing me from installing the needed updates.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

All 700 Mhz and 800 Mhz eMacs should be at minimum upgraded to 10.3.9, at maximum you'll be able to get is 10.4.11.  All 1 Ghz and higher eMacs should be at minimum upgraded to 10.3.9, though if you are willing to part with Classic, Mac OS X 10.5.8 is possible on them.  Flash for PowerPC works best with the info below:

Any Mac OS X 10.0.x was basically a test version of Mac OS X known as a beta.  It wasn't until 10.3 that it was palpable, or that you'll find any compatible applications.  For more on upgrading to 10.3 and beyond, see this tip:

Good advice from a brody, but might try this... could be a bit different for 10.0.x, can't remember...

Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

    208.67.222.222

    208.67.220.220

    Then Apply.

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?

The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.

Open System Preferences>Network>Configure>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.
