Mar 15, 2012 4:40 AM in response to Highlordkramby Gwscds,I have just changed mine as I am about to cancel my original email id and change to another - i did this on my ipad but my iphone still had the old email icloud id so here is how i did it
1 - change your email in your apple account( it is also my apple id)
2 i then deleted the old email id on my icloud account on my phone
3 i then logged into my apple id on my phone and pretended to forget my password- it asked me for my apple id email - i entered my new one , i then had to enter my password - the one disadvantage of changing to a new email is you will have to have a new password as it will now not accept your old one! I entered a new password - it sends me an email i re- enter new email and new password and hey presto i have the new eamil icloud id on my phone !!!!!
Good luck!

Mar 19, 2012 12:30 PM in response to Highlordkramby Sfordham,I had the same frustrating problem, but all you do is go to settings-icloud-turn everything to off, and 'save' -delete account -'save' again - then go back into iCloud and your new address should pop up.

Mar 24, 2012 10:37 PM in response to Matt Curtisby amyface23,Matt's solution worked for me! I made sure my new Apple ID/e-mail address was set up correctly with iTunes, then went to the iCloud setting on my iPhone and turned all syncing options off. It let me delete my account and when I signed back in, my new Apple ID/e-mail address was there and I just turned on all my syncing options again.
I think the key is to turn off each individual syncing option before deleting the iCloud account.

Mar 29, 2012 12:16 AM in response to Hashbrown9by Stepppy,I have tried this and at no time was I given the opportunity to create a new @me email address, only enter a new Apple ID. Changing Apple ID is not a problem as I have done this once already in the past, but the @me.com iCloud email seems impossible
This seems to be such a simple request, but no clear answers. I have asked at the Apple Store and they confirm it cannot be done, yet some people still insist it can.
For those who have done it do you have any screen shots?
Below is a screen shot of the address I want to change

Mar 29, 2012 9:23 AM in response to Stepppyby noemad73,Yes Steppy, that is exactly the same issue i had and sorry to say, there really seems to be nothing Apple can do about it as far as how it appears on your phone. I had called Apple, talked to numerous people at different levels and it ended up going all the way up to the engineers. The whole process actually took about 2-3 months before i received some finality on it! In the end, they basically were able to inactivate the improper @me.com email address, but it would still show it on the phone, even though it is no longer linked to my account. So I still see it on my phone, as you do, but it is supposedly no longer actually linked to my account. Annoying yes, but that was all they could do for me. hopefully that'll at least bring some closure for you. There is nothing you can really do except unlink it from your account, but it shouldn't really be a big issue anyway. I know it's annoying seeing it on the phone though! Sorry!

Apr 4, 2012 1:25 AM in response to Highlordkramby Commonsense101,I first changed my new email through App store/iTunes on my devices. I then deleted iCloud account, logged in under my new email and it works. Maybe the trick step 1 that I stated.

Apr 7, 2012 1:37 AM in response to gmardreby RaytotheRay ,Curious & confused with all this mix up... did we establish a way yet to change the Mail Address under the ADVANCED settings? I, too, entered in an incorrect email that is not mine & I cannot change it. I don't even have a "@me.com" mail address. My Apple ID email address is fine & I do not wish to change it. I only wish to change the Mail Address under the ADVANCED settings within the icloud ACCOUNT settings. Also, What are the downsides of having an incorrect email address placed here? Thanks in advance!

Apr 7, 2012 2:00 AM in response to RaytotheRayby RaytotheRay ,Disregard my previous post, it seems I've created a "@me.com" account by doing what I did. Good luck to the rest of you iToons, hopefully you'll all get on the same page sooner or later ~;P
