I am running Safari v5.1.5 using OS 10.6.8.  If I want to see all the videos posted on my Yahoo web page I have to have QuickTime Plugin.plugin in my Internet Plug-ins folder.  However if I want to be able to print PDFs or save PDFs direct from Safari, I need to quit Safari and remove the QuickTime Plugin resulting in most of the videos do not open.  Why should I be having this problem and is there any remedy so that I don't have to choose.

Thanks,

JDB38

    Hello,

You do not need to remove the QuickTime plugin to save PDFs.
When you view a PDF in Safari's window, just move the mouse cursor to the bottom of the window and four icons will appear. Click the one at the right to download the PDF directly on your Downloads folder. (Pictured below)

You will be able to open the PDF with Preview and print it.

    Quit Safari.

Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:

If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.

If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.

Delete the following items from the Library folder:

    Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

    Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

    Preferences/QuickTime Preferences

    Relaunch Safari and test.

Ok! This fixed the problem with QuickTime plug-in on safari. I believe that for many users who have this issue, this are the solutions.

    Thanks a lot
