Hi There,

I am first time user of Apple Products so, need some guidance, though i have started my iPod from this Q&A from this community only so, Thanks to you all guys.

Now, i am facing one problem is that i have loaded my iPod with songs (Sync Automatically (Default Setting)), now i want to do it manually but when i connect my iPod to iTunes I am unable to see the songs which are already in the iPod so, i want to delete those songs manually (some i wants to delete and some wants to keep it there also) so, could anyone guide me for my issue please with step by step how to do it ?

Thanks in advance.

    Since you want to manually delete tracks from the iPod, have you made sure the iPod is configured for manual management?

    If so, then we can proceed with manually removing tracks.  There should be a small black triangle next to the name of your iPod under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  Click on this to reveal a submenu of content and then select the Music category.

    Here you can manually remove your tracks by highlight the track and either:

    a. Hitting the delete key

    b. Selecting Edit -> Delete

    c. Right->clicking on the track and choosing Delete.

    Thanks for your reply.

    However, it didnt solved my problem because in iTunes i am unable to see the procedure which is suggested here (may be i have set up iPod in Automatically sync style) so, i have restored the factory setting and updated the software for it :-)

    Lets see now.....what will happen next !!!

    What happens when you tried the above procedure?  Note that it will not work if your iPod is set up for manual management. In that case you'll want to adjust your sync settings so that the desired tracks are removed during the next operation.

    I have already written in my first post is that I am first time user of Apple Product and may be that is why unable to see the procedure, when i connect iPod after seeing reply here tried that way but dont know what happend the submenu was not there, now after restore the factory setting my iPod is blank and now i can see the submenu of it (as you suggested above) i have attached screen shot of iTunes(Note:- this is after the restored the factory settings) iPod.jpg

    after this settings i have re-open the iTunes and update my iPod to Manual Setting instead of Automatic so lets hope wont face any problem now.

    Yes.  It looks like there is nothing currently on your device as can be seen from the Memory graph on the screen shot above.

    So now you can enable manual management and manually drag and drops onto your iPod under devices in the left hand pane as well as manually remove them using the procedure I outlined in my first post.

    See this article for more on the different ways to sync or add music to your iPod Shuffle.
