I know. I have tried to work with them to resolve the issue but you know Government agencies and their absolute reluctance to do what is right. Plus, they are still using Safari 3.1 and from what I hear have no plans to update their Safari allowances until they are finished with their own Maps upgrade. I'll probably have to call them Monday, again, to see if this can be resolved on their end but I doubt that it will really do any good at the present. I use their mapping services in connections with Genealogical work for locating old cemeteries and other mapping features that may lead to one that is known to exist but only had ancient descriptions and landmarks.

Just discovered the Safari access problem to USGS MapLocator. It is with Safari 5.1.5 REQUIRING OSX Security Update 2012.001. I CANNOT update that because it DESTROYS my ability to use a couple of clasic apps I have that have NO appropriate updated app or alternate app that can open several thousand documents I have need to be available. This same goes with upgrading to LION.
I am trying to find a way to reinstall Safari 5.1.4 that I still have available but it keeps telling me "unable to install because there is a newer update available". What would happen if I trashed 5.1.5 app? I tried to move the app to an outside folder but that did not work as still got the same message. Is there a way to UNINSTALL 5.1.5 so I can reinstall 5.1.4?
