Apr 4, 2012 9:18 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby Thomas Emmerich,It was discussed but I don't recall seeing the answer. It seems you imported directly from the camera and from a reader and both had the problem. Did you use the same USB cable for all imports? If so can you try a different cable?

Apr 5, 2012 5:56 AM in response to Thomas Emmerichby DanielJoshuaLambert,Hi Thomas
I tried two different USBs (direct from the camera)
Also used the card reader on my iMac and a universal one... All problematic.I am going to try and take some shots today with another card

Apr 5, 2012 8:31 AM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby shuttersp33d,I'm not sure if you said this, but is your sample file a master exported from Aperture or was it straight from the camera? Definitely corrupt, just want to make sure it hasn't gone through any software yet.

Apr 7, 2012 1:41 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby DanielJoshuaLambert,Ok guys...
Tried a NEW card, (formatted too) - used a card reader, only imported 26 files, all SEEMED ok to start however as I went on to take a look at each they starting corrupting. Simply double clicking on them to make them 100% from browser view to Viewer. So far 2 pictures have corrupted exactly like the ones I showed you previously.
Again, this was an import straight through Aperture.
Narrowing it down to the camera? (eos 600d) OR the computer?
Thoughts please.....!

Apr 7, 2012 1:50 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby Ernie Stamper,Put the card back in the reader, and then open it in the Finder after it mounts. In the Finder, drag the RAW files on images that have corrupted to a new folder created for the purpose. Send me, as previously, at least one of the RAW files before their ever having passed through Aperture.

It's just sending over now, please excuse the picture - me and the missus have been taking many to find corrupted ones
The photo I'm sending you has just been dragged and dropped from finder onto my desktop and sent and hasn't touched aperture.
(however in Aperture previously, this is one that corrupted)

Apr 7, 2012 2:56 PM in response to léonieby DanielJoshuaLambert,Hmmm....I presume it would have to be another dslr? Or one that could take RAW?
It's still under warranty. Is it worth replacing??

Apr 7, 2012 3:02 PM in response to Ernie Stamperby Ernie Stamper,Downloaded into the Downloads folder, and immediately copied it to another drive on my Mac Pro to preserve a copy as sent -- no corruption in the thumbnail, whereas there had been with the first image you sent. First opened iit in Photoshop CS5 -- no corruption. (Nice photo, I think -- she is only sad for you!) Next, opened it with Preview -- again no corruption. Then I opened it with Graphic Converter, and again no corruption.
Finally, I imported it into Aperture (3.2.3 on Snow Leopard), and no coruption there either, despite editing to adjust the Hot and Cold areas, and a little use of Shadow slider to see the one eye in the shadow. Then toggled back to the Master serveral times, and still no corruption.
So what can this mean? You should also open a pristine copy with Preview, or other app, to see if your Mac can see it without corruption away from Aperture. If you have iPhoto, latest, import it into it, and check.
My first thought is that the Camera Raw for .CR2 files from your camera was flawed upon installation but the test with Preview and iPhoto will perhaps tell us that -- both of those use the same Camera RAW as Aperture, but that is not the case with my test via Photoshop.
This would not appear to be a problem with either the camera or memory card, nor Aperture in general since not a problem for my installation.

Apr 7, 2012 5:20 PM in response to Ernie Stamperby DanielJoshuaLambert,Ernie thanks for the investigation
What options do I have...?
Is it worth getting a replacement camera to be on the safe side?
Could it be my hard drive? Or Aperture software?Stuck!
Thanks again

Apr 7, 2012 5:26 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby Ernie Stamper,Daniel,
From the Finder, did you open this image with Preview, as I suggested?
I can't remember what version of OSX and Aperture you are using? I think the next thing I would try, after the testing of opening with Preview, is to download and install the Combo Update for the version of OSX you are using. It might correct flaws in software, but not sure since we don't know what app is flawed.

Apr 7, 2012 5:31 PM in response to Ernie Stamperby DanielJoshuaLambert,Sorry
In preview the image is OK, no obvious corruption.
I have the latest os (I think lion 10.7?) and software update states everything is upto date.
What's combo update? Is this an app?
Thanks!

Apr 7, 2012 5:36 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby Ernie Stamper,Daniel,
The Combo Update for the latest version of Lion is found at:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484
Note that this download is 1.26 GB in size. Any Combo update is more than simply a delta update to the OS, and contains the necessary coding to completely correct things that might have been flawed from simplyt updating via Software Update. I am not sure this is what you need, but it cannot harm to apply the update over top the exising OS.

Apr 7, 2012 5:48 PM in response to DanielJoshuaLambertby Ernie Stamper,Daniel,
Just to be certain, I booted into the latest Lion, and in that OS, I also imported the latest .CR2 file into another Aperture Library. There is no corruption in Aperture/Lion either on my Mac Pro.
