Apr 9, 2012 9:56 PM in response to Guapomaticby kostby,Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Did you run Software Update to check for the latest drivers from Apple?
Your printer IS listed in the latest list of printer drivers in the Apple release:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669
And Canon USA has the drivers you've probably already downloaded:
After downloading the drivers to the desktop, you have to double click the dmg file to open and install them.

Apr 9, 2012 10:09 PM in response to kostbyby Guapomatic,The software is on my computer and installed. The problem is that I can not add the printer.
....And I spent 30 minutes loading the software from apple. At the end of the download, I would get a message indicating that the software is unavailable.

Apr 9, 2012 10:53 PM in response to Guapomaticby PAHU,★HelpfulSome things you should do.
1. Disconnect the printers USB cable from the Mac.
3. Open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon > BJPrinters and trash the contents of this folder.
4. Run the MP830 printer driver installer for Lion that you downloaded from Canon
5. Restart the Mac
6. After the restart, open Print & Scan and then reconnect the MP830 to the Mac. It should appear in the Printers list after a short period of time without downloading another driver or prompting you to install software.

Apr 10, 2012 10:29 AM in response to PAHUby Guapomatic,After connecting the printer to the mac, it did prompt me to install software. I closed the box and clicked the + to add a printer. It then went to setup and added the printer successfully. Thanks!
