Okay, I get that the "obsolete and vintage' classification is essentially irrelevent.

That it's irrelevent to those with a fairly signifiicant  knowledge and skill base may or may not be a topic for this  board. I suggest that a pre-purchase warning to the dummys - or even a post-purchase update - is the ethical course of action, but I can see how that's beyond the purview of this context. Sorry to impose it.
