Hi guys, hope you can help.

I'm running a clean install of Lion on a 2009 MacBook.

I've connected it to a HDTV via a VGA adpator (have been doing this for years with Snow Leopard and no issues). The display is fine on the TV when the laptop is open, however, when I'm trying to use it in clamshell mode the display is blank.

When I re-open the laptop, both displays are fine, so problem is limited to clamshell mode.

I have a feeling I may have reset the VGA resolution settings to ones which can't be used, however I am confused as to why they are ok when the lid is open, but wrong when in clamshell.

Any help would be grand.

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
