The files listed in alphabetical order once I removed the Date Added column from Show View Options selection under the Gear pulldown.

I had this problem with "All My Files" in my Favorites section, while my other Favorites were sorted a to z. So I clicked on "All My Files", then clicked on "View" from the Finder Toolbar, and then clicked on "Show View Options". I deselected all boxes regarding dates (i.e., Date Modified, Date Created, etc.). Once I did this, all the files went back to be sorted from a to z instead of z to a. I then rechecked the date boxes. The list has stayed a to z.
Another option is to click on the "Arrange" button and click on "none" (or again click on "View", then "Ararnge by" and then "none"). Then an arrow will show on the right side of the "Name" column. You can then click on that button to change from a to z and then z to a sorting.
Hope this helps.
