I've recently got BT Infinity and along with it a BT Home Hub 3 which doesn't seem to be playing nicely with Back to my Mac.

The 'Back to my Mac' checkbox in the iCloud preferences on the computer which is on the network with the BT Home Hub (Computer A), is showing that the router needs configuring for better performance.

Computer A shows up on the remote computer (Computer B) and vice versa but when selecting the device the connection fails. When selecting Computer B from Computer A that conneciton also fails.

I've ensured UPnP is enabled and forwarded the following ports to the device:

TCP 5354

UDP 4500

UDP 5353

UDP 500

UDP/TCP 4488

Which I found listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629

Anyone else having trouble? Any suggestions?

Yep -also having problems with this. When using my MacBook Pro outside of my home and work networks I can use back to my mac to conect to my iMac at work, however when at home and trying to make the same connection it fails or responds very slowly.

    I'm on a BT homehub 3.0/infinity. Haven't found a solution yet.

Replace the Home Hub with a timecapsule. It plugs directly into the openreach modem, and works like a charm. You need to configure it for "Connect using PPPoE"

        Set username to be bthomehub@btbroadband.com,

Set the password to BT or anything (don't leave it blank, even if you use just a space)

        Set "Connection" to Always On,

Set "Disconnect if idle" to never.

I found the homehub to work fine with PC's but even my connection was flaky with the macs at home. And Back to my mac works on a timecapsule!
