Apr 13, 2012 2:52 AM in response to ipod!!!by Knucklesmac,The later Clamshell iBooks ( keylime and graphite SE, 466mhz) All came with a DVD drive. If you can obtain one of these DVD drives. (eBay maybe?) I am more than sure it fits and works fine. I done the same to my Indigo 366mhz iBook and it worked fine.
An external DVD drive via USB is very hit and miss. If you buy a very early USB 1.0 DVD drive it might work. Any of the new USB 2.0 DVD drives wont work at all. (I know I've tired it ) You are best to get a iBook SE DVD drive and fit it.

Apr 16, 2012 12:56 AM in response to ipod!!!by Knucklesmac,I never found the 4 meg video memory to be an issue when I played back DVD films on a iBook Clamshell (Tangerine, 300Mhz and my iBook Indigo) Granted it would benefit a 256meg memory installing and I wouldn't run any other application while playing back videos.
