I have several places in my current project where the audio and video have been broken out and I discovered that I inadvertently cut video as I edited the audio. I want to 'heal' the cuts in the video stream. Is there a key command which turns the blade tool into a healing tool? I can't find it.

John Apple killed the heal tool in X :( but this is a workaround I found.

Let's say you have a 1min clip on the primary storyline, you accidentally blade a 5 sec range in the middle of it. To joint or re-make it a 1min clip without the cuts, highlight the 5sec cut + the cut to the right of it, right  mouse click and select replace with gap. Then just drag the end of the "video" clip to it's 1min duration. You'll notice as you drag, the gap will be overwritten by the video clip, and most importantly it won't push your clips out of sync to the right ;)

Needed to do that several times to a project I was working on today, definitely no heal tool but but a workaround for now ;)

Select either part of the broken clip in the storyline.

Press Alt+Cmd+Up Arrow to "Lift from Primary Storyline"

Drag the clip to the correct duration.

Press Alt+Cmd+Down Arrow to "Overwrite Clip to Primary Storyline"

Andy that's brilliant..... never even thought about doing it that way, definatly quicker than my option

    Thanks!

(Still not as good as FCP 7 heal though).

True... apart from shortcut keys, the next best is right mouse clicks

Just thinking out loud here Andy, lifting your clip from the Primary Storyline gets a little scary when your timeline looks like this.....

However, I'd be comfortable doing it your way

This isn't working for me, with a multicam clip. When I do that it just does a ripple edit.
