Q: My mac mini works fine on a computer monitor, but not on my hdtv! it just shows a black screen when powered on.

what might be the issue? settings on my tv? I only have 2 HDMI ports on the tv...one is hooked up to my directv, the other my apple tv. I unhooked my apple tv(which works fine) and plugged in the mac mini. just a black screen.

    Hi, likely a setting, what native rez is the TV, & what rez is the mini set to when it works?

     

    With the connection that doesn't work, try a Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does that show & allow you to set a better rez?
