I am having the same issues. i had preordered 2 ipad 3, i own 3 laptops 2 acers one toshiba. all in the same room side to side. Both ipads never have a stable wifi connection. in another room where signal strength is not the best but none of my laptops face a problem (i live in a 2 floor apartment) my ipads do NOT have any signal at all. I hate apple i regret paying 1500 euros for the new ipads one for me and one for my girlfriend.

don't lose hope yet, check the wifi router configuration. The signal strength is just an "indicator", for example I get the same bandwidth next to the router (10mbps) where the signal shows full strength, as I get across the house, where I have only one or two "bars".

again, what helped me was reducing the options for connectivity in the router and picking the "fastest" possible, check the other post (the "answer") for the exact choices.

The answer (20Mhz, and changing the mode to be only 802.11n or 802.11g in my case) is also what's recommended here:

You've may have already done so, but double check the following.

Go to Settings > WiFi (just doing this seems to scan for new networks), if that doesn't work...

Make sure "Ask to Join Networks" is set to on.

if that doesn't help, under Choose a Network, click the "Other..." (this requires you know the name of the network

PS this is a DIFFERENT issue than the original post. If my suggestions don't help, you should start a new discussion. ALSO if you just purchased try calling Apple, bear in mind you have ?? days to return.

I'm not sure if anyone is still having this problem, but I was having an issue where my new iPad would drop wifi occasionally and everytime when it went to "sleep" or locked for a period of time. It would also "forget" a network that was saved occasionally. I went into settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This caused a restart.

I reconnected to the wifi and it ran great. I left it connected to wifi over night with the iPad locked...it was actually charging...and it was still connected to wifi the next morning. I will try again without it being charged and see if I get the same results but for now I think this simple step has fixed the wifi being dropped. Only time will tell. Good luck.

The problem is I have tried the WiFi connection to other service providers but can't connect. I just used the WiFi Connection for 2 or a week only ;((

I've had mine for about 2 weeks and it worked brilliantly. Suddenly the connectivity issue popped up. I've tried everything suggested here and through YouTube, but no luck. I even stood right next to the router and nothing. I get 2 - 4 bars, just no online activity. Tonight while exploring iCloud.com for the first time, I set find my iPad to do a search to see what it would find. The iPad was sitting next to me, not lost, but I wanted to experiment. Results were that the iPad was offline and couldn't be located. The iPad showed 2 bars at the time. So maybe this is why I can't get online, it looks fine, but something is disconnected. I know I sound like everyone else out there with this same complaint, but perhaps the pile of accounts will lead to tracking down the root cause and resolve this.

i had this issues before i fixed them by changing from wireless g to b and changing the wireless channel 6 to 11.
