If you create a Compound Clip in the Browser (not the Timeline) you can add your effect to that. Save the Compound in a dedicated Evenc called something like 'Effects' and it will remain there for use in any Project.
From there, copy and paste effects as normal.

Copy and pase effects as normal? Normally i would save a preset of myown, just like you can on the color correction, and apply it to clips that are scattered throughout the timeline. It seems ludicris that apple didnt iclude this option in fcpx. Hopefully this is included in in an update.
Is there any video tutorials on this workaround?
i dont know how to make a compound clip with effects and no video.

i have motion 5. I use it for more final touches and animation, titles and whatnot. I know i have barely unlocked its potential but alot of the plugins i use only work in fcpx as far as i know. Not all of them but i would say more than half.
Having Motion does not make up for the lack of not being able to simply save a custom preset for an effect in fcpx. i would say its a major design flaw based on that it was available in fcp6/7.
