I am new to fcpx. All im trying to do is tweek the parameters on an effect and then save the presets so i can just drag it onto another clip.

in my case I'm just simply putting the aged film effect on a few clips in the timeline. I put the aged film effect on the first clip and changed alot of its parameters so it doesn't look so harsh. now all i want to do is be able ( like i did in fcp6) just drag the effect into my bin so i can drag it onto the other clips with the same settings. If i have to go and tweek the effect for every clip thats going to kill production time.

running 10.7.3

fcpx 10.0.4

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.2), powerbook 17". Emac(s), 9600, IIGS.

If you create a Compound Clip in the Browser (not the Timeline) you can add your effect to that. Save the Compound in a dedicated Evenc called something like 'Effects' and it will remain there for use in any Project.

From there, copy and paste effects as normal.

I think $49 for Motion is worth it for situations like this. Have you thought of getting that?
