Just has fixed it: in my case there was a full blanking of the screen at power management when external power applied )))))

I was able to create a Windows user account and everything, it was just the restart that messes everything up. Also, my laptop is plugged in for every step. Should it not be plugged in?

Yes, it is suggested to keep it plugged in when installing it so It's not supposed to do that.
If you installed a new set of Ram, or extra, you might try to boot into the Hardware Test DVD and do the Ram check test for awhile and see if something comes up.
You might also try to reset your SMC which controls your power management before you try installing Windows again.
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
- Shut down the computer.
- Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
- On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
- Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Not a waste of time, glad you got it going, for whatever reason some computers have all kinds of issues, some take 2 to 5 times to get it to work, some can never get their copy to work but they borrow a friends copy and works first try..... got to love computers.............
