I had GarageBand installed, however I went to upgrade and now it's stuck! I get told it can't download at this time and has been like that for 3 weeks now. I don't want to remove it because I'm worried I'll lose the song I have! Anyone had the same issues? Help please!

I have a similar problem - can't update my Mac version of GarageBand so it will accept my iPad GarageBand songs. The upgrade downloads, but then I get an error message.

The list of download failures grows. 18+ peeps! Anyone get this figured out. Me Panic too!, like John! I have attempted to download the GarageBand app directly from iTunes store from a PC intallation of iTunes software, wireless from the iPhone 4 & from the iPad2. Nada. Never had this type of issue before with any app download. Has anyone been successful at sorting this issue out?
Note: The PC attempt actually complete the application data transfer, but as it finishes, iTunes reports an error. The error code is something like 8008?
The device attempt have all stalled at various points in the process of downloading. Once with the iPhone4, the download finished, but the app petered out partly through the installation process.

I am having the same difficulty on my iPad 1 and iPhone 4. I keep coming up with download unavailable at this time. I'm with you, too, John! Does anyone monitor this log? If this has been going on for weeks, I'm surprised someone responded with a solution yet!

...Does anyone monitor this log?
Someone from Apple? No. This is a user to user support forum. There are feedback and bug reporting channels if you want to make use of those, but Apple don't monitor these pages for emerging technical issues.
If you are dowloading directly to the device then I'd suggest that you try closing all apps to make sure that none are running background processes, reset the device, check you have a strong Wi-Fi signal then try again. If that doesn't help can you download the update to iTunes and sync with that?

Thanks for the response and info. I did close all apps and reset the iPad. I did have good wifi, and i had over 8 gig free space. but none of that helped. I finally backed up all my files in GarageBand to iTnes on my Mac, uninstalled and reinstalled. That worked.
I didn't try downloading update to iYunes. In fact, I dont even remember how to do that! I always do it on my iPad.
My iPhone GarageBand finally updated after I deleted some apps, and downloaded the other app updates one at a time.

Thanks TT2. I was having "download unavailable at this time" issue on iPad2. Downloaded update to iTunes and synced from there.
