My iPhone all of a sudden does not recognize the Belkin hub as a charging source and even if plugged in with Apple supplied USB cable, is not recognized. What happened?

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.1

Well, if your phone charges without the Belkin hub, that would indicate a problem there.

In general, using a USB hub with the iPhone is NOT recommended.

If it charges when plugging directly to your computer, then it would appear to be your Belkin hub. Do you have anything else connected to the hub? If you have too many things connected to a hub, it might not have enough power to charge or run them all. Try a different port on the hub, one of them might have gone bad.

If it still doesn't charge when connected directly to the computer, then try a different USB cable, it might have gone bad. If a known good USB cable doesn't work, then you might need to have the phone checked out. If it comes down to the Apple supplied USB cable or the phone, take it to the Apple Store, they can check both and if you are under warranty, they can get it taken care of on the spot.

What they said. The iPhone will not work with any hub unless it is the only device connected to the hub or if the hub has its own power source.

No matter where I plug in my iPhone 3gs, wall plug, USB port or CLA in car, there is no indicator the iphone is being charged.  Itunes does not see the iphone when it is plugged in. I tried different USB cables on different PC's. Nope, not working. Out of warranty and too far from Apple store.  I am ready for

Your first post implied that the problem was only with your hub. If the phone doesn't charge with any source either the connector on the bottom of the phone is dirty, it has a bent pin, or the phone is broken. The first you can fix with a clean, dry toothbrush; the 2nd you may be able to fix with small tools; the last will require replacing the phone.
