and to Apple Support.
To learn more about managing spam (for example, forwarding spam email as an attachment to spam@me.com), see iCloud: Why was I spammed?

Jan 26, 2012 12:20 PM in response to WhiteTiger00by NoHypoMe,I have been a mobileme (formerly .mac) user for many years. In the past few weeks, I've received more SPAM on this account than in all my years as an Apple customer. I forwarded all of these to spam@mobileme.com, but nothing has changed. In fact, today, I received SPAM appearing to originate from "SPAM@ME.COM". Someone has obviously caught on and is using some simple SMTP hacks to pass on even more spam.
Sorry to say, but Apple has to get control of this or become the laughing stock of the "cloud" community.
Apple, get your act together, please, or you will lose your customer base. Any hint of your iCloud services being compromised, and folks will not trust it, as you must well know.

Apple TVOddly enough I haven't received one item of spam since I started using iCloud, and that's on three accounts.

Mar 1, 2012 6:04 PM in response to WhiteTiger00by Selia,Hello and yes, I have been experience spam like a snowstorm since switching to iCloud; for years I never had any spam, nothing, then all of a sudden, first a lot with "test" in the email address; now I'm getting all kinds of junk. Like someone threw thousands of little slips of paper with my email address off the top of the Empire State Building. Apple is no help. They act like they have no idea there's been an increase in spam. I've even been exploring other options. I cannot believe there is no way to change an email addres. I don't get it. You can do that anywhere else. Sorry I have no solution to offer.

Apr 13, 2012 11:49 AM in response to WhiteTiger00by William Franklin,I've had the same problem. I recieve a few a day, which are being picked up by the junk folder. I forward every one (as an attachment) to spam@me.com.
Never have I had a problem with so many spam messages going back to my MobileMe or Dot Mac days...

Apr 20, 2012 10:05 AM in response to WhiteTiger00by Uri,I've been having the same problem since switching to iCloud last week. I get dozens per day. I've had a dot mac and then mobileme account for many years and never had this problem. I would like to find out what to do, can't seem to find anything.

Apr 20, 2012 10:06 AM in response to WhiteTiger00by wbkIII,I am having the same issue and it worsens by the day ... I may have to switch to gmail where I get zero spam (like mobileme used to be) ... with data limits by our carriers this spam addes up ... I would rather stream music and video on my iPhone than have a portion of my data plan taken by all this spam

Apr 22, 2012 1:53 PM in response to WhiteTiger00by hap01234,The spam gates opened up on me this week. I've had a .mac address for years and this is the first. I kept this account carefully protected from the outside world and used it only for personal communications.

Apr 22, 2012 5:34 PM in response to NoHypoMeby WhiteTiger00,I actually do forward SPAM/Junk mail to spam@me.com as an attachment. It does help, but these tenatious spammers still send more.
My original post was to bring attention to the matter, as I knew/know others who are having the same issue with their .mac or .me accounts.
For those of you who don't get any SPAM still... ROCK ON! I hope you don't get any! EVER! :-]

Apr 24, 2012 11:30 AM in response to deborahfromcynthianaby wbkIII,You can only do it from the mail program in Lion. You right click the message and select forward as an attachment. Frustrating that you can not do it from your mobile devices.

Jun 23, 2012 10:31 AM in response to WhiteTiger00by torchlake@me.com,I'm an so miffed by the sudden appearance of spam since I switch to iCloud. I unsubscribe when I can; put in my junnk folder; and send to spam@me.com. Nothing seems to make a difference.
I was an early adopter of Mac in 1984. They seem excellent at hardware, but adolescent at software. I feel frustrated, disappointed and annoyed.
If a "third way" appears (rather than Mac or Microsoft), I'm ready to jump.
I feel so sad about this weakness in their product line.
