Q: You're account is temporarily unavailable purchasing via paypal

I have tied my paypal account to the iTunes/App Store.  While trying to purchase Final cut Pro X,Motion, Logic Pro, and Compressor (over $600 worth of software) a message comes up for several days now stating "The Store is unable to access your account information. You may continue to browse the Store. Please try again in a few minutes."  Once I press "ok" nothing happens (the prompt goes away).  If I press "buy" again, I again get "Your account is temporarily unavailable. The Store is unable to access your account information. You may continue to browse the Store. Please try again in a few minutes."  I press okay, and "buy" again - and "We could not complete your request.  There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)."  However, I've rented a movie via iTunes, and my account appears to be functioning properly.  This problem has been recurring since Saturday, April 21 2012 right after new security questions came into effect at the Apple Store.

    Hi John...

Try here >  Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing

Most likely two different severs between the Mac App Store and iTunes Store which could account for not having problems with the rental.

Make sure and click Save if you edit your Apple ID security questions and answers.

Click here >  Apple - My Apple ID

    Then click:  Manage Your Account

    Then click:  Password and Security

    Click Save.

    Thank you.

None of the options provided above solved this problem.  It still persists.  My first question to support is, has anyone checked the backend DSN's, communication systems and authenticating systems between the App Store and the credit card approval mechanisms, prior to assuming the user is at fault?

I'd also like to add that inserting a third option button stating something like "No, my problem still persists" would be a nice addition to your support communitiy blog/posting center.  Doing so would suggest to the user and all guests who'd read a particular posting that solving technical problems is indeed foremost rather than an afterthought to the user's prediciment.

I still have not heard back from anyone.  This seems like a time when a decision should be made in going with Avid, or Apple.

Removed credit card from paypal.  Cancelled past billing agreement at Paypay.  Applied new credit card to paypal.  Updated paypal information.  Agreed to allow billing from Apple to paypal.  Returned to App Store.  Closed App Store.  Waited 30 seconds and reopened App Store.  Now I get "Your PayPal transaction was declined." "Enter your Apple ID and password, then click Billing Info and update your payment information. You will not be able to make purchases until this billing issue has been resolved."

I went through this procedure about 10 times (not kidding here).

Nice to be bounced back and forth.  Question to Apple - do you want to sell these apps?

I'm having the same issue. It's kind of daunting to come to the Apple forums with an issue, see that a person before you has the same issue and that NO one from Apple has responded to you. Does Apple of forum moderators?

There is no one from Apple here.  We are all fellow users.
