Hi I want to get lion on my mac but then it says that i need 2GB of memory. Do i need to buy one of these:

    Yes, or something like it. If you plan upgrading to Lion I would install 4 GBs or more if your model will accommodate it.


    Try OWC or DataMem for RAM where it's much less expensive than buying from Apple. Installing is easy and explained in the Adding Memory section of your computer's user manual.

    Read the Lion specs, you need a Intel Core 2 Duo or better, not a Intel Core Duo


    Also 10.8 is coming out in a few months and won't run on older hardware so you'll just be behind again.


    If the machine orginally came with 10.5, then it's near it's end of life stage anyway and 10.7 is going to slow it way down.


    Buy a new 10.8 machine after this summer.
