Since I've upgraded to Safari 5.1.5 YouTube videos take forever to load, or never load at all.

I do not see this problem in Chrome or Firefox.

I've tried deleting my Flash Cookies (read online that it could help), but it hasn't changed

Anyone have ideas as to what's preventing YouTube videos from loading quickly as they

have done in the past?

I like Safari, and hope to continue using it; but at the moment it's simply unusable for my needs.

Mac Pro 8-Core, Mac OS X (10.6.4), FCP 7.02

    Hi David ..

Uninstall the Flash plugin you have installed then reinstall new >   Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS

Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache

Quit then relaunch Safari and try a video.

BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.

And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

I'm not having any problems with Safari or any video...

    At least try this...

    Boot in Safe Mode

A Safe Mode boot definitely takes longer than a normal boot so be patient.

Once you see the Desktop click the Apple menu icon top left corner of the screen. From the drop down menu click Restart.

    Try a video.

Safe Mode deletes system caches that just might help.

I watch YouTube videos in Safari with no problems whatsoever, on slower hardware than you have. Something is wrong with your setup. If you prefer not to make the effort to find out what it is, that's fine with me. I'll unsubscribe from this thread now.

You probably are using Google's newest buggy HTML5 player.  Go to YOUTUBE.COM/HTML5/ and opt out of the trial.
