Don't feel sorry for phone reps.  If they continue to work for a company making an excessive amount of profits and they agree NOT to be able to help the customer with security issues, why do they still collect their paycheck and agree to work for a company with no adequate customer support.  All APPLE support people should walk out.  Today Ryan at iTunes.  security dept told me I need to understand this is a new dept and I need to give them time to become functional AND I need to understand they have limited resources!!!   Unacceptable.

Sure, there is a contact  us section.  If u use e-mail option u get a response will take 24 hours, then that person skirts around the issue for another 24 hours, then u get a message that says sorry, it doesn't usually take this long, but.....and on and on and on and on.  They just blow u off.  If u take the phone route, they first argue with u will take 24 hours for a call back, then after arguing for an hour I refuse to wait 24 hours they admit they can submit a call me now request.  I was so excited when after my call me now request was submitted My phone rang, only to hear a recording that said, sorry all reps are busy.  Absolutely unacceptable.

I have only commented on this thread because this is the only time I have ever had a problem with an Apple product serious enough to post on the forums about.

Seriously? You have a problem with an Apple product serious enough to post on the forums and you post this:

lol @ CarloTD attacking the victims once again.

I find it amusing interesting sad that some people have invested so much money and emotion into Apple products that they can't see what is right in front of them.

This is really helpful to the forum of "iTunes store account hacked". Never once did you reference yourself as a victim, yet you chose to speak for all victims, while attacking another forum poster who has posted helpful comments.

"Fundimental". Thanks for the catch.  I have fat fingers and a tiny asus netbook keyboard to deal with today.

I am sorry that my providing the contact us link provided you with no help. That is different than "to seriously hunt to find a web page to attempt to contact Apple about this." that the I was replying to. I haven't had too much trouble with Apple online or phone support.

https://discussions.apple.com/message/17986833#17986833, for a start. It's a summary of the thread so far and some suggestions for anyone else who is a victim.

I must have missed Carlo's helpful post - please post a link. The only ones I've seen either insinuate that our PCs are hacked or say the problem is nothing to do with Apple.  Most of his earlier posts suggest people contact their CC companies, which is BAD advice. Only recently does he suggest how to contact Apple.

As for your attack on Linj, he has every right to expect a speedier and better response from Apple. Who are you to tell him to wait 24/48 hours by following the "Contact Us" link? This is a victim of fraud here and he wants answers! He is also a paying customer to what is apparently the biggest company in the world and he does NOT expect to be told they "have no resources". In your responses (18222977 & 18223039), you and Carlo are simply rude - I don't understand why.

However, I'd like to take this discussion away from this thread (don't want to go offtopic).

    Hi..just want to share

My itunes account has been hacked yesterday. initally, got an email from apple (appleid@id.apple.com) saying that details of my account has been changed. i immediately email the itunes support and managed to get my account after they reset my apple id.

Suddenly today, i received a receipt from itunes store and it seems that the one transaction (gift certificate) has been made and  billed to my name and address, but the country is in US (while i live in Asia), plus the credit card details is different from mine. I suspect they are using others cc and using my name and address.

Anyway, apple told me the refund money is on the way. i do hope someone's that own the credit card will get his/her money back.

How come they are refunding you money, when the CC used was not yours?

i think they refunding the money to the billed credit card. ive check with my cc bank (that used to registered in itunes) and they said no transaction has been made during the event plus i immediately block my cc.

My sisters account also got charged twice yesterday for this "Haypi Kingdom, super package"

    2x 69,98 euro!

contacted click&buy asap and they cancelled the account and orders, and I just send a mail to apple to cancel the purchase. I was just in time before they charged here bank account so I'm lucky it takes a day to charge instead realtime like mastercard. (click&buy is linked directly to the bank account instead cc).

So how was this possible? Here password didn't work that's how she found out there was a problem. They hacked here secret question or something?

There is no way of removing a cc or change the numbers or turn it off I am going to have to cancel all of my cards to get rid of this.

iTunes says it's not there problem and that I have to go to my cc company about the fraud.

If there is a way to do any of this it is not user friendly.

Maybe you have to be a programer to now where and how to use it?

    I must be VERY stupid.
