Lost all my files from sidebar. Checked finder preferences and all my files are checked.

In the Finder Menu under Go All my files are faded and I cant do a shift-command F from my keyboard.

Try deleting the finder preference file, it may be corrupt.

Home Library is hidden in Lion. In Finder, select GO and hold the option key. Select Library in the submenu. Then navigate to the preference folder. Then remove

    com.apple.finder.plist & com.apple.finder.plist.lockfile

Trash both and restart your computer.

If you remove the FInder's preferences, you will need to restart the computer to create new preference files for it.

While empting trash computer said it could'nt trash com.apple.finder.plsit.lockfile. Now the hard drive is onmy deskktop.I cant eject it as the hard drive isn't in the sidebar of the finder window. This is driving me nuts!!!
