**** I noticed today when I was dusting my screen on mt iMac,

That I have a dirty smudge mark inside the screen which to be honest.

I am not at all happy about after reading apple threads about such problems.

I purchased my iMac mid November 2011 and i took out apple care plan.

What would you do about the problem if it gets any worse in future.

I had payed alot of money for my iMac 27" i5 version and didn't expect this problem.

Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that since you have AppleCare's protection plan and if you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

    Simon,

This is a public forum which Apple does not read or participate in. Because it's a public forum it's not wise to post your personal information. I have asked the moderator to remove your personal information. To contact AppleCare you can use the AppleCare Contact Info link or you can find the phone number in your owners manual.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Simon,

Your Apple Care plan entitles you to have the screen cleaned.   I've had the problem ... and the no charge repair.   I notice Baltwo's reference to 'on site work' but I don't think you will find such a service in the UK, at least I never have.

There are several reasons why you could have this problem, the local environment, smoking, whatever; but don't be put off; it is a valid complaint.

Since AppleCare docs mentioned KMs, I assumed it would be applicable across the pond.

Sadly the service in the UK does not match that of their US and Canadian customers.   On site is not available here.   Their telephone service is not so good either ... you can hang on for ages.   And when you take your machine to the store you have to conduct your business on an open floor with all the distraction that children can cause.

On the bright side, these forums meet most of our needs, often exceeding the quality of advice available through so called genius bars.

Thanks for the clarification. Then, a trip to one of Apple's repair stations is in order.
