I'm trying to upload my book to ibooks. I'm in the itunes producer, latest version. I am at the rights & pricing page and both the publication type and the price tier are grayed out. When I get to the deliver page, it says I have errors, so I go back to rights & pricing and it will not allow me to 'choose' anything. They're both 'blank' or 'grayed out' and I have no options.  I'm stuck in a vicious circle and can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong.

When I go to the user manual for itunes producer and look at the rights & pricing section, it says that the tier is determined by my contract. Which contract are they referring to? lol

HELP!!!!

    What contract do you have?

Did you sign up for a 'free' contract that only allows you to upload books that are free in the store or did you sign up for a 'paid' contract that lets you set a price and sell books in the store?

Log in to iTunes Connect and check your contract status - perhaps something there needs your approval/attemtion and needs to be completed before you can proceed otherwise.

I have a paid contract. And I've logged in several times....it says there is an updated contract and I've read it three times.

Did you request and accept/agree to the updated contract?

I think if you do that, you can proceed with your app via iTP.

At this point, I'm ready to throw my mac out the window. I love all of Apple's gadgets, but this def con 1000000 security is a bunch of baloney.

I can NOT accept any contracts and I believe we have figured out why.

For some unknown reason, my husband's account is listed as primary. When I go into manage users, he is listed as primary (as if this is 1866!) And no matter what we do, I cannot get access to any of the legal contracts. Therefore I cannot accept any.

    Argh!

For whatever reason my husband's account is listed as the primary/legal role. I am listed as admin only. He logged in and accepted the contracts under his name. But I'm still having problems. I tried logging into iTunes Producer under his apple ID & with his password and it would not let me log in under his name.

So I'm still stuck at point A without a clue as to how to get to point B. This really has been the most frustrating experience. KDP was so much more user friendly.

Does the same iTunes ID and password get you into iTunes? If so, I'd say it's a permission problem with iTunes Connect, and you should contact Apple for help. If not, the ID and/or password are wrong. In that case, you could reset the password.

I'm not sure WHAT the heck we did, but it is working!!! Yay!!  Now the problem I'm having is with the image...its not liking the size of my book cover...argh...I used pixelmator to create it, now I'm trying to resize it to fit.

Thanks again for your help! It has been helpful! ;o)

WE HAVE SUCCESS!! I now officially take back all the bad things I said about Apple! lol

Does anyone know how long it takes before it goes live (meaning someone is able to purchase it?)

    Thanks everyone!!!
